Colombos Family Restaurant has been a home away from home to the people of Balwyn since 1969.
Situated on the iconic Whitehorse Road and owned and run by 5 brothers, Colombos has a warmth and feeling of family that can only come from the real thing. Greeting you as you enter the restaurant is Maitre D, Nabil (or Uncle Bill as hes known). Always with a smile and traditionally using your first name, Bill is a friend to many who dine at Colombos. Baby brother Fadi is the master Pizza Maker, and keeping the kitchen in perfect running order is Gabriel, the restaurants executive chef. Oldest (and wisest?!) brother Simon runs the restaurants Patisserie and Walid oversees administrative duties.
Together the 5 of them, Simon, Bill, Gaby, Wally and Fadi use what their parents so famously taught them to bring good food and good times to all those who enter the doors of Colombos. Colombos has the reputation of being the only licensed restaurant in Balwyn, and is one of only a few restaurants in Melbourne whose kitchen remains open from 11am to late. Diners are welcome all day every day to choose from pizza, pasta, seafood, steak, or simply good coffee and cake.
Unique to Colombos is the homemade touches that inundate the menu. All our pastas, sauces, bases, cakes and gelati are made fresh daily onsite. Ask the manager for a tour of our basement level cooking facilities on your next visit. Winner of the Australia Caboolture Best of the Best Pizza Challenge seven times, over the years.
